Role Overview
Purpose of job
The post holder will play a vital role in transforming data to provide operational efficiencies to manual business as usual processes and to provide insights from data mining/analysis to support business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to collect, analyse, and interpret datasets, primarily utilising tools such as SQL, Snowflake and Alteryx for data preparation and process automation.
Main Responsibilities And Duties
- Support ES Solutions team in technology and tactical enhancements; delivering business efficiency and system modernisation in line with strategic objectives set by the Group Board.
- Ensure data is accurately structured and managed, using appropriate solutions and tools to support business processes.
- Extract, clean, and manipulate data from various sources (SQL databases, spreadsheets, flat files, APIs, etc.).
- Design, build, and maintain Alteryx workflows for data preparation, transformation, and automation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver insightful reports and dashboards.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security of developed solutions, documenting processes and methodologies and supporting the testing, deployment, and maintenance of data solutions.
- Continuously look for ways to optimize and automate recurring data processes.
- Liaison with JTC Information Technology Team to ensure that Employer Solutions technology changes are consistent with group objectives.
- Liaison with third party intermediaries’ technical teams e.g. Fund Managers / Transfer Agents / Clients / Platform providers / 3rd Party Vendors to resolve Data quality / consistency issues.
- Adhere to Risk & Compliance policies and procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation and to any Divisional policies and procedures.
- A key focus will be contributing towards efficiency initiatives linking to the rollout of ServiceNow as customer Self-service tool and workflow management tool for Employer Solutions across Jersey, Guernsey and Edinburgh.
- As the team and technology model continues to evolve, there may be data architecture and infrastructure improvements required which will require collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to support business requirements and test new solutions.
- The post holder will also have a key role supporting existing workflows and identifying areas for improvement and must be delivery focused at all times.
- Adhere to CPD requirements in accordance with qualification level and in-house procedures.
- Develop self and always ensure knowledge in relevant field.
- Adhere to the JTC core values and expected behaviours and ensure the spirit of JTC is engendered and shared within the Group;
- Adhere to Risk & Associated Compliance procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a data analyst or similar role.
- Understanding of best practices for structuring data - such as using a centralised data layer and integration layers to support ES requirements.
- Skilled in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and database management with relevant Microsoft certification.
- Alteryx Designer “Expert” Certification or equivalent experience and skills with relevant products.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Completer/Finisher – ability to see tasks through to completion.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Positive “can do” attitude.
- Able to focus on self and ensure knowledge in relevant field at all times.
