A business that has been described as 'home' by existing employees, we drive a culture that is founded on positive change and development.Summary of The Role:We have an opportunity for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our team in Edinburgh.Working in a wider team of 7, in this role, you’ll be a trusted partner to our managers, guiding them through everything from day-to-day employee queries to more complex and sensitive cases.You’ll be at the heart of creating a positive workplace culture, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes while keeping things commercially balanced.Along the way, you’ll play a key part in shaping our people policies, supporting business change, and helping managers build confidence in handling Employee Relations issues.What you’ll be doing:- Provide timely, consistent and commercial advice to managers on people-related and employment issues.
- Support business change projects including TUPE transfers, restructures, and harmonisation.
- Manage and advise on settlement agreements and employment tribunal claims.
- Review and develop people policies, ensuring compliance with employment law and best practice.
- Coach and upskill line managers to build confidence in handling employee relations matters.
- Use data insights to identify trends and drive positive outcomes across the business.
- Strong end-to-end employee relations experience in a regulated environment.
- Ability to manage own workload and multiple cases at any one time.
- Up-to-date employment law knowledge with the ability to apply it commercially.
- Experience coaching and influencing managers at all levels.
- Confidence in handling sensitive cases such as grievance, disciplinary, and settlement agreements.
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) – Level 7 desirable.
- A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience working with trade unions, developing policies, or supporting employment tribunals would be a bonus.
