Job/Employability Tutor - SEN Schools (Northampton)
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term supply
Are you passionate about helping young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) develop essential life and employability skills?
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Job/Employability Tutors to work with SEN students in a variety of schools across Northampton.
This rewarding position involves supporting pupils with additional needs as they prepare for adulthood, employment, and independent living. You will deliver creative, practical, and engaging lessons that develop confidence, communication, teamwork, and workplace readiness skills.
Key Responsibilities:Plan and deliver tailored employability and life skills sessions suited to the needs and abilities of SEN learners.
Work closely with school staff and external agencies to support students' Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes.
Help students understand workplace expectations, career pathways, and essential skills for independence.
Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to build confidence and motivation.
Track and record student progress effectively.
Experience supporting or teaching SEN students, ideally in post-16 or vocational settings.
Strong knowledge of employability skills, careers education, or vocational pathways.
Excellent communication and empathy skills.
A proactive and adaptable approach to working with diverse learners.
A recognised teaching, training or assessing qualification is desirable.
